Why Drysuit Diver Specialty? If you want to see the spectacular and prolific aquatic life often found in colder water climates you'll need to stay warm and that means a dry suit. But, you want to be trained in proper techniques and this is where Dry Suit Diver Specialty courses comes in. *Please note: Depending upon the location you choose to do the Dry Suit Diver Course at, you may be taking either a PADI or SSI course. Both courses are interchangeable, and each is recognized by the other certification agency. Purchase course materials for the agency your course will be conducted through. *We recommend combining this course with the Peak Performance Buoyancy Course. Prerequisite Certification: Open Water Diver or an equivalent certification. Minimum age: 10 years of age. Academic Materials: This course requires that each student have Agency Specific Drysuit Diver Crew Kit. Equipment Requirements: Each student must provide all Scuba equipment. In order to help each student get the most out of this course, each student is strongly encouraged to supply their own dry suit. *If you purchase a drysuit from any one of our Underwater Sports stores, we offer a FREE Drysuit Orientation with the suit. This is a familiarization course, not a certification course. Email us to schedule an orientation. Practical Training: Students will conduct a minimum of 2 Drysuit dives. Academic Training: During your Dry Suit Diver Specialty course, you'll not only cover the background knowledge related to dry suit diving, you'll get into confined water to put that theory into practice. Then, once you've mastered confined water, it's time for two open water dives and applying that knowledge, including dive planning, organization, techniques, problems and buoyancy control.
