ICE DIVER SPECIALTY Why a Ice Diver Specialty? Looking for extreme diving? You've found it. The PADI Ice Diver Specialty certification allows you to test the limits of fun. This is a very seasonal course which we will have to schedule based upon demand, let us know early and convince your friends... and we'll set up an Ice Diver program for you. Prerequisite Certification: Advance Open Water Diver (or qualifying cert. from another organization). Minimum age: 18 years of age. Academic Materials: Texts required for this course will vary from instructor to instructor. Contact us for more specific information about required texts. Equipment Requirements: These courses are taught in a wide variety of different ways, so contact us for more specific information regarding equipment required for each course. Students will be responsible for all scuba equipment including an environmentally sealed regulator. Practical Training: Students will conduct a minimum of 3 dives on the Dräger Dolphin SCR. Academic Training: You'll learn ice diving planning, organization, techniques and potential problems as well as site selection, preparation, special equipment and safety diver procedures. You'll then put this all into practice when you ice dive within the light zone (within 40 meters/130 feet total distance from the surface, including vertical and horizontal). Course Timetable: This course can be conducted in as little as one day, or can be scheduled over multiple days if the student wishes.
