Why take a Nitrox Specialty Course? By diving with enriched rather than standard air you are able to extend your decompression limits. That means that you can get more time underwater! For example if you are doing a dive to 50 feet on air your no-decompression limit would be 80 minutes; the same dive conducted on 36% nitrox will give you an allowable bottom time of 220 minutes - an increase of 140 minutes! *Please note: Depending upon the location you choose to do the Nitrox Course at, you may be taking either PADI or SSI course. Both courses are interchangeable, and each is recognized by the other certification agency. Purchase course materials for the agency your course will be conducted through. Prerequisit Certification: Openwater Scuba Certification. Minimum Age: Minimum age is 15 years old. Academic Materials: Agency Specific Nitrox Diver Crew Kit. Equipment Requirements: Students must supply all basic Scuba equipment plus a knife, a compass, a slate, a light, a signalling device. Students regulator system must have been cleaned to accommodate enriched air mixtures up to 40% Oxygen. Students must also have all applicable dive tables; EAN32, EAN36, Equivalent Air Depth, and PO2. Equipment Recommendations: In addition to the required equipment, there are some items that we highly recommend. These items will help to ensure that you get the most out of the Nitrox course. We recommend a Nitrox Computer, a backup light, and a Pony bottle system. Practical Training: Students will conduct two dives using enriched air. The enriched air Nitrox course emphasizes the theoretical and operational considerations involved with Nitrox diving. Academic Training: Students will complete the Knowledge Reviews from the Agency Specific Nitrox diver text and watch the Nitrox diver video. Students will have a final exam based upon the information they've mastered through the homework and classroom time. Course Timetable: This course can be conducted in as little as one day, or it can be spaced out over a longer period if that is more convenient to your schedule. Since this course is fairly specific when it comes to usage of Recreational Dive Planners it is strongly recommended that students pick up their agency specific course materials well in advance of the course date. Additional Fees: Courses which include dives will require the use of two enriched air cylinders filled with between 22% and 39% nitrox. Tuition does not include the use of any rental equipment, charter boat fees, or required specialty equipment.
Scheduled Courses:
* Each student must have viewed all applicable video's and have completed all required homework prior to the beginning of the course/s. Each student must have their own books for each course.
