Naturalist Specialties & Workshops!
Why a Naturalist Specialty or Workshop: If you're interested in aquatic life and/or the aquatic environment then a Naturalist Specialty course is for you. These courses are introductions to the underwater aquatic environment and will help develop safe and responsible aquatic life interaction techniques. *We strongly recommend this course for underwater photographers. Prerequisite Certification: Openwater Diver or equivalent certification for Naturalist Specialty. No minimum certification required for workshops. Minimum Age: 10 years for Naturalist Specialty. No minimum age required for workshops. Academic Materials: Text requirements for this course vary from instructor to instructor. Contact us for more specific information about required texts. Equipment Requirements for Naturalist Specialty: Students must provide all Scuba equipment. These courses are taught in a wide variety of different ways, please contact us for more specific information regarding equipment required for your course. Practical Training for Naturalist Specialty: Students will conduct a minimum of 2 Naturalist dives. Academic Training: Students taking the Underwater Naturalist Specialty course will learn about underwater naturalist dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. Students will get an overview of major aquatic life groupings, interactions, and factual information that dispels negative myths. Students taking part in one of the workshops will deal with the specific subject matter to be covered by the workshop.
