UNDERWATER NAVIGATION SPECIALTY Why Underwater Navigator? When you're underwater, knowing where you are and where you're going comes in handy, especially if you're looking for that beautiful reef that you've heard all about. The Underwater Navigator Specialty course will help you become a pro at finding your way underwater. PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certified or qualifying certification from another organization Minimum Age: 10 years old Academic Materials: Navigation Diver Crewkit Equipment Requirements: Students must provide all basic Scuba equipment. Students must also provide a compass and a slate for use during the course. Academic Training: Students will complete the Knowledge Reviews from the Navigation Diver text and watch the Navigation Diver video. Practical Training: Students will conduct 3 dives during which the student will complete the navigation excercises required. This course will concentrate on underwater navigation dive procedures, techniques, planning, organization and potential problems. You'll also be introduced to natural navigation, underwater patterns, distance estimation and further your compass navigation skills. You'll put these into practice during your three open water dives. Course Timetable: This course can be conducted in as little as one day, or can be scheduled over multiple days as the student wishes.
