Schedules

Take the first step in your dive career and become a DiveMaster or DiveCon. Working closely with PADI or SSI Instructor, you'll expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills as you become a dive professional. DiveMaster/DiveCon training develops your leadership abilities by training you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.

 

What DiveMasters/DiveCons do:

Work at local dive centers, on live-aboard dive vessels, yachts and at exotic resort locations, assist Instructors with students, lead divers on guided dive tours, teach and certify skin divers, teach Discover Snorkeling programs, conduct Scuba Review programs for certified divers, lead certified divers on local dive experiences and Fun Dives, teach Emergency First Response programs after successful completion of an Emergency First Response Instructor course.

 

Prerequisites:

 

Advanced Openwater Diver or qualifying certification from another training organization, Rescue Diver certification or qualifying certification from another training organization, Medical clearance signed by a physician and 20 logged dives.

 

Minimum Age:

 

18 years old

 

Academic Requirements:

 

Divemaster Training Package, Divemaster Video, Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving, the Diving Knowledge Workbook, Instructor Manual and Logbook.

 

Equipment Requirements:

 

WCandidates must provide all basic scuba equipment.

 

Academic Training:

 

Candidates will work on dive leadership skills and logistic planning through classroom sessions, independent study sessions and training scenarios.

 

Practical Training:

 

WComplete water skills and stamina exercises in confined and openwater training exercises to test orginizational and problem solving abilities, an internship or series of practical training excercises.

 

Course Timetable:

 

Two weeks - Three months depending upon schedule and progression. Exact dates and times will be worked out with your instructor on the first night of the course.
