Why Wreck Diver? The lure of exploring sunken vessels, airplanes and automobiles is something most scuba divers can't resist. The Wreck Diver Specialty course introduce you to wreck diving and helps you to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for safe and fun wreck diving. *Please note: Depending upon the location you choose to do the Wreck Diver Course at, you may be taking either a PADI or SSI course. Both scuba courses are interchangeable, and each is recognized by the other scuba certification agency. Purchase course materials for the agency your course will be conducted through. Prerequisite Certification Adventure Diver certification or qualifying scuba certification from another
organization. Minimum age: 15 years old Academic Materials: Agency Specific Wreck Diver Crew Kit Equipment Requirements: Students must provide all basic scuba diving equipment, also a Pony Bottle system or Spare Air is required. Since each wreck diving course is different, please speak to the store or your dive instructor to determine exactly what equipment is required. Academic Training: Students will complete the knowledge reviews from the Wreck Diver text and (if applicable) watch the Wreck Diver video. The course instructor may have additional handouts that will be required for the course. Practical Training: Students will conduct 4 wreck dives. This course will concentrate on familiarizing the student with the safe conduct of wreck diving. This will include dive planning, organization, procedures, wreck diving techniques and hazards.
